BPS Fete 2016


Bally School's Home-Baked Cake Stall

We are seeking volunteers to bake items to sell at the Home-Baked Cake Stall at the 2016 Balgownie School Fete.

All contributions will be greatly appreciated. Some examples include: biscuits, cakes without cream, muffins, cookies, or slices. Please note, as there will be no refrigerator at the stall, items with cream or items that need refrigeration cannot be accepted. If you are able to bake something for the stall, please complete the form as soon as possible.

In the week leading up to Fete Day, all volunteers will receive a Cake Box (best for 20cm round or square cakes) or Cake Tray (best for bar cakes, cupcakes, slices or muffins) together with an Information Kit which will be sent home with your child.

As many people suffer from allergic reactions to certain foods, the Home-Baked Cake Stall will use ingredients labels. This is very easy to do and you will be given instructions and an example to follow in your Information Kit. Since numerous children at the School suffer serious allergic reactions including anaphylaxis to certain food products, the Cake Stall will not be selling items that contain nut products. As a Home Baked cake stall volunteer, we also ask you to follow the Food Safety Fact Sheets for Charities and Community Organisations by Food Standards Australia & New Zealand. Baked items will need to be dropped off at the Stall between 9.30am and 11.00am on Fete day – Saturday, 15 October 2016.

Can you Do Just 1 Thing?

We are creating a group of volunteers to make our Fete happen, we have lots of small jobs that need to be done. All we need from you is to “Do just 1 thing”.

Please come along to our first get together at Balgownie Collegians at 12 noon and/or 6 pm on Thursday 21st April. You can get to know the coordinators, ask questions, see where you may be able to help. All we need is for you to just do 1 thing.

Can you run a stall?

Some stall suggestions include:

  • Plant stall
  • Face painting
  • Sideshow Games
  • Outback Steakhouse/BBQ
  • International Food
  • Chocolate Wheel
  • Fairy Floss
  • Show Bags
  • Drinks Stall

General Volunteers?

If you don’t know what you can do, we have many roles to fill. Can you with the Fete preparation (before Fete day)

Some of the roles include:

  • Volunteer coordinator
  • Sponsorship Major/Raffle
  • Sponsorship minor
  • Join the Fete steering committee
  • Notes collection
  • Pamphlet drop

Fete Day Volunteers?

We have many jobs that need to be done on the day. Can you help? Put your hand up for a couple of hours, you don’t need to give your whole day, just a few hours will also help.

 Some of the roles include:

  • Set up on the day team
  • Fete Day runners
  • Organising Gazebo/ marquees
  • Manning a stall for a few hours


  • Pack up on the day team

Help on the day

There a range of jobs that make the Fete run smoothly and you can help in a big way or a small day. It doesn't matter whether you can help only for a few hours or the whole day. Every bit helps.


Running a stall can be super rewarding. If you have a few friends or family members it can be a fantastic way to help the fete. Ideas range from the cake stall to face painting to the chocolate wheel. How to collect cash on the day will all be explained before the day.
